Cake Beauty’s sweet partnership with Opportunity for Advancement
Cake Beauty is Canada’s most indulgent collection of bath and body products and although we want everyone to enjoy our quality offerings, the majority of our consumers are women. Heather Reier, founder and president, is focused on increasing our contribution to women and their success. “It is hugely important for me and Cake Beauty to continue to support women, especially Canadian women. We are thrilled to be building a long term partnership with Opportunity for Advancement, an organization that works to help support and empower women who face intense challenges in life”.
Opportunity for Advancement works with women in impoverished life situations. While poverty is an issue for almost all of the women with whom they work, other factors create additional barriers to well-being and enjoyment of life. OFA offers several programs supporting women in their goals to achieve greater economic sufficiency, increase personal well-being and enhance their participation in their communities.
Opportunity for Advancement has been a leader in the development of collaborative group models that address personal issues within a broader social context. Our programs enable participants to build self-esteem, reduce social isolation, explore the roots of problem situations, learn and share information and skills, and set new goals for themselves and ultimately break the cycle of poverty.
